A little breath. A world of music.

Eidolophone EARTHWIND is a learning, practice, and performance companion for the ocarina. Find your first notes, work on a difficult passage, or settle into a musical landscape and play. Bring your instrument, your curiosity, and a little breath.

Watch the trailer — 68 seconds of Earthwind in action.

Practice at your pace

Hear a reference note, follow the score and available fingering diagrams, and see live pitch feedback as you play. Let the music wait for you, move on when you find each pitch, or work on holding notes and keeping time. Slow down a passage and loop the measures you want to revisit.

Start with foundation exercises, then explore technique studies for finger control, intervals, rhythm, register changes, and supported chamber transitions. Adjust a study’s difficulty to change its notes and rhythms. Focus mode puts the current note and upcoming notes front and center, with a choice of tabs, note names, and staff notation.

Turn learning into play

Connect music reading, rhythm, listening, and ocarina technique through interactive lessons and musical games.

  • Echo Lanterns: listen to a phrase, then play it back by ear. Keep visual hints while learning, or hide them for an ear-training challenge.
  • Careful Clouds: guide a balloon with sustained notes and steady breath.
  • Firefly Round: read a note on the staff and bring it to life with your instrument.
  • Note Match: connect note names, notation, and fingerings in a card game you can play without a microphone.

Play the melody. Hear the accompaniment.

Explore 33 included melodies, including traditional tunes, classical themes, and original music. Check how a melody fits your instrument, take it into Practice, or play with available backing arrangements in Performance. Adjust tempo, instrument sounds, and the mix; keep a melody guide while learning, then mute it when you want to carry the tune yourself.

Make room for a jam

Step away from exercises into four atmospheric spaces: Piano Duet, Aurora, Lantern Lights, and Jazz Club. Play over piano chord progressions, build an evolving ambient soundscape, exchange phrases with lanterns, or join a small jazz ensemble. Each session has its own musical behavior and options for sound, tempo, and accompaniment.

Bring your music and your instruments

Import MIDI or MusicXML into Melody Workshop. Choose a melody, edit notes and rests, transpose it to suit your range, and keep selected parts as accompaniment. Save your work to the library or export a portable Earthwind song collection.

Build a collection of your own instruments, from supported pendants and transverse ocarinas to double- and triple-chamber models. Explore their response with calibration and define personal fingerings with the tab builder. Fingering coverage varies: manufacturer charts, estimated patterns, and your own mappings are identified so you can check what you are using.

Make the space comfortable

Choose light, dark, or high-contrast colors, adjust text and notation, and enable simplified accessibility layouts. Optional spoken guidance and musical descriptions help you explore supported scores and activities. These settings let you choose how much visual and spoken information you want while learning.

The interface is available in English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, German, and Korean. Practice works offline, with no Earthwind account or subscription required. Settings and progress stay on your computer, and portable backups let you keep a copy.

Try the demo

The demo includes three songs—Hot Cross Buns, Au Clair de la Lune, and Ode to Joy—plus three foundation exercises, two introductory lessons, instrument setup and calibration, and Piano Duet. Replay them without a time limit. The remaining songs and full-version features stay visible and clearly marked, so you can see what the full application offers.

What you need

A physical ocarina and compatible microphone are required for live pitch feedback and microphone-driven activities. Headphones are recommended when playing with accompaniment. The microphone check helps you assess your setup, and microphone audio is analyzed locally rather than uploaded by Earthwind. Listening, score editing, and reading activities can be used without microphone input.

Desktop editions and support

Version 1.0.0 offers the full application for $4.99 and a free demo for Windows 10/11 (64-bit) and macOS 12 Monterey or later on Apple Silicon Macs (M-series). The Mac download is ARM64; Intel Macs are not included in this release. Full and demo editions install separately and keep separate settings.

Use the free demo to check your instrument, microphone, and playback setup before buying. Windows installers are unsigned and may display an unknown-publisher or reputation warning. The Mac downloads are Developer ID signed and notarized.

The license, privacy policy, and third-party notices are available in About & Support in both editions. For help, email eidolophone@proton.me or visit eidolophone.com. If you report a problem, include your edition, application version, operating system, and the steps that caused it. The application can export a local diagnostics report; do not send a full personal backup unless support requests it.
